Nissan North America (Nissan) is recalling certain 2002-2006 Sentra vehicles whose passenger air bags were previously inspected and may have been released without replacing the Takata air bag inflator. In the event of a crash, Takata frontal passenger air bag inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.

What the owner should do?
You can check if your specific car is affected by a recall by entering your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the NHTSA website. The VIN is a unique code that identifies your vehicle and can be found on your car's registration, insurance documents, or near the base of the windshield on the driver's side.
If the recall involves your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.
This notification is purely informative for the vehicle type you have selected. As these deficiencies often relate to specific components (engine type, bodywork, equipment), the recall may not apply to all vehicles of this type. For more detailed information on possible recalls for your vehicle, please contact an authorised workshop.
