Ford Motor Company – High Voltage Battery Water Damage May Cause Fire

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2024-2025 E-Transit Chassis Cab vehicles. The tray side rails for the high voltage battery pack may buckle and crack, allowing water to enter the battery.

Consequence Summary Water inside a high voltage battery can cause an electrical short circuiteasing the risk of a fire.
Corrective Action Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will inspect and replace, or repair the battery assembly as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed April 21, 2025. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S36.
