BMW of North America – Air Bags May Not Deploy as Intended

BMW of North America (BMW) is recalling certain 2025 530i and 540i xDrive vehicles. The air bag control unit may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can result in the air bags not deploying as intended.

Consequence Summary Air bags that do not deploy as intended during a crash increases the risk of injury.
Corrective Action Dealers will replace the air bag control unit, free of charge. The vehicles have not been sold from dealer inventory and therefore no owner letters will be mailed. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.
