Chrysler (FCA US) – B-Pillar Trim May Interfere with Air Bag/FMVSS 226

Chrysler (FCA US) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer vehicles. The upper B-pillar interior trim may not be fully seated and could interfere with the side curtain air bag (SABIC) deployment. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 226, “Ejection Mitigation.”

Consequence Summary A compromised deployment of the SABIC can reduce occupant protection in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Corrective Action Dealers will inspect and reseat or replace the trim pieces as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 22, 2023. Owners may contact FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US's number for this recall is 76A.
