Mercedes-Benz USA – Vehicle May Detach from Tow Vehicle

Mercedes-Benz (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS 450, EQS 580 and AMG EQS53 vehicles. The front or rear bumper tow ring assembly may have insufficient thread depth, which can result in the tow ring detaching from the vehicle.

Consequence Summary A tow ring that detaches during vehicle transport or loading can increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Corrective Action Dealers will inspect and replace the tow ring assembly thread, as necessary, free of charge. Owners notification letters were mailed August 24, 2022. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2020070019/20.
