(KME) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Predator SS Pumper vehicles manufactured January 17, 2015, to July 21, 2015, and 2014-2016 FDNY Pumper vehicles manufactured May 21, 2014, to July 27, 2015. The affected vehicles may have replacement drive shafts that may twist and fail during use.

Consequence Summary | Failure of the driveshaft may leave the fire truck immobilized in traffic, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, the truck may not be able to respond to an emergency, increasing the chances of injury for those at risk. |
Corrective Action | KME has notified owners, and dealers replaced the drive shafts, free of charge. All affected vehicles have been remedied, free of charge. Owners may contact KME customer service at 1-800-235-3926. |
