ON CERTAIN CAB AND CHASSIS TRUCKS, WHEN EXCESSIVE FORCE IS APPLIED TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, BEYOND THAT REQUIRED TO ACHIEVE FULL ACCELERATION, THE PEDAL MAY BECOME WEDGED BETWEEN THE FLOOR PANEL AND THE CARPET.

Consequence Summary WHEN THIS OCCURS, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WILL BECOME WEDGED IN THE FULL THROTTLE POSITION WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.
Corrective Action DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL HEIGHT TO DETERMINE IF IT IS WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS. IF EITHER THE PEDAL HEIGHT OR THE ACCELERATOR ROD IS NOT WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS, REPLACE THE ACCELERATOR ASSEMBLY. IN ADDITION, A NEW BRACKET CONTAINING AN ACCELERATOR PEDAL STOPPER WILL BE INSTALLED. THE RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT HINO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-845-365-1400.
