Ford Motor Company – Improperly Tightened Bolt on Rear Axle

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2023 E450 vehicles. The bolt that secures the rear axle rotor to the wheel-hub may be improperly tightened, possibly resulting in wheel separation.

Consequence Summary Wheel separation from the vehicle increases the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action Dealers will inspect the rear axle serial number, and if necessary, remove and inspect the rear axle rotor and hub assembly. If any bolts are found to be loose, the rotor and hub assembly will be replaced. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 18, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S68.
