Chrysler (FCA US) – Head Restraints Not Welded Properly/FMVSS 202

Chrysler (FCA US) is recalling certain 2022 Jeep Compass vehicles. The front seat head restraints were not welded properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 202, “Head Restraints.”

Consequence Summary Improperly welded head restraints can result in an increased risk of injury to seat occupants during a crash.
Corrective Action Dealers will replace both front seat head restraints, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 3, 2022. Owners may contact FCA US LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US's number for this recall is Z36.
