Chrysler (FCA US) – Air Bags May Not Deploy as Intended/FMVSS 208

Chrysler (FCA US) is recalling certain 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. The front bumper may be missing energy absorbing foam, which can cause the front air bags not to deploy as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.”

Consequence Summary Front air bags that do not deploy as intended can increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Corrective Action Dealers will inspect the vehicles and install the foam as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 30, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US's number for this recall is 41B.
