Alcoa – Wheel Fracture During Tire Mounting and Inflation

Alcoa (Alcoa) is recalling certain 22.5″ X 8.25″ aluminum wheels, model number 88367X, manufactured from April 27, 2015, through May 19, 2015. Due to a forging problem, the wheel rim flange section may separate during the initial tire mounting and inflation process.

Consequence Summary Personal injury could occur if the flange separates during the initial tire mounting and inflation process.
Corrective Action Alcoa will notify its original equipment manufacturers, fleets and distributor customers, and will inspect and replace as necessary, free of charge, that has not yet had a tire mounted and subjected to full operating inflation pressure.
