CERTAIN TWO-SEAT, TWO-DOOR COUPE MODEL PASSENGER VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 225, “CHILD RESTRAINT ANCHORAGE SYSTEMS.” THESE VEHICLES WERE NOT EQUIPPED WITH A TOP TETHER ANCHORAGE AS REQUIRED BY THE STANDARD. OWNERS WHO WISH TO USE A CHILD RESTRAINT WITH THE AIR BAG DEACTIVATION DEVICE REQUIRING A TOP TETHER IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT CANNOT CORRECTLY INSTALL THE SEAT DUE TO THE LACK OF THE TOP TETHER ANCHORAGE.
