ON CERTAIN TRAILERS, THE WHEEL ASSEMBLY HUB SPINDLE NUT ON EACH AXLE MAY HAVE BEEN INSTALLED WITHOUT A “KEEPER.” THE PURPOSE OF THE KEEPER IS TO LOCK THE SPINDLE NUT IN PLACE AND, THEREBY, SECURE THE WHEEL TO THE AXLE.
