Suzuki Motor USA – Wiring Harness may Rub and Short

Suzuki Motor of America (Suzuki) is recalling certain model year 2014 Suzuki DL 1000 motorcycles manufactured January 17, 2014, to June 5, 2014, 2015 Suzuki DL1000 motorcycles manufactured November 4, 2014, to February 6, 2015 and 2016 Suzuki DL1000 motorcycles manufactured June 11, 2015, to July 15, 2015. The affected motorcycles have a wiring harness that may rub against the bottom of the fuel tank. Vibration from riding may cause the wiring insulation to wear off, allowing a bare wire to short circuit against the fuel tank.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
