Elgin Sweeper Company – T-Fitting Failure Causing Air Leak/FMVSS 121, 106

Elgin Sweeper Company (Elgin) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Elgin Broom Bear, Crosswind, Eagle, Road Wizard, and Whirl Wind street sweepers. The T-fitting installed on the air brake system may fail, causing air to leak, potentially resulting in the parking brake applying unexpectedly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, “Air Brake Systems,” and 106, “Brake Hoses.”

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
